As the North African days heat up more and more in the sweltering future of a globally-warmed world, it becomes too hot for Egyptian citizens to even walk around outside. Inside, too, uncooled homes and offices become dens for spiking heat stroke deaths.
The city of Alexandria thus embarks upon a huge Air Con megaproject campaign; installing massive super-powered cooling devices on all city buildings ---- both public and private.
Alas, this only has the effect of heating up the city even more; what with all that hot air waste gushing from the Air Con machines to be dumped outside (not to mention all the extra greenhouse gases that are spewed out into the atmosphere in order to keep the Air Con machines powered-up).
Welcome to Franken-Alexandria: where keeping cool at an industrial scale only works to make the city environs hotter and more physically challenging -- so much so, that the Air Con machines often falter and breakdown with incessant regularity, rendering the Air Con campaign a massive techno-failure.
